Yesterday RingCentral announced the would be acquiring Glip, an office messaging tool. The acquisition will mean that RC will be expanding their cloud based service for businesses and be able to offer yet another feature for users to benefit from.
Glip is a messaging tool that is able to integrate with Asana, Box, GitHub and Zendesk. This will continue to be possible with RC and renamed to RingCentral Teams.
The CEO and founder of RC, Vlad Shmunis, commented on the companies blog,

Together we’ll deliver the industry’s first integrated cloud business communications and team collaboration solution, which will empower teams to work across all locations, devices, and modes of communication.”
